The tests he endures, including living alone in the wilderness, confronting Sauron, and. He inherits the mantle of power and wisdom from his distinguished ancestors, along with the right to the throne of Gondor. By the end of the novel Frodo decides to part ways with the rest of the Fellowship and travel to Mordor alone, followed only by his beloved friend and servant Sam. He does not need to grow into or accept his role he is born to it.
